Experimental study of pressure flushing of non-cohesive sediment through slotted pipe bottom outlet

چکیده

ABSTRACT Among several techniques for prevention and mitigation of reservoir sedimentation, bottom outlets arise as a means removing sediment deposited close to the dam. Given reduced removal provided by traditional under pressure flushing conditions, this article proposes new type structure that aims increase in direction parallel dam axis. An experimental installation was employed evaluate its operation function variation diameter flow characteristics. Through analysis bathymetry generated structure, dimensionless relation predicting scour pit length obtained, presenting good fitness data.
